At the end of June, we were thrilled to win the Burnley Active Primary school of the Year Award at a glittering awards evening at the Mechanics. The award is recognition of the opportunities our pupils have to be active and healthy. Big congratulations go to Miss Grillo, our PE and Sport lead, and her team – Mrs Barker and Mrs Windle who all go above and beyond in all things PE and sport. Special mention also goes to Mrs Claire Taylor who tirelessly teaches Forest School lessons to the entire school and who contributes so much to our pupils’ active curriculum.

We are very proud of Ethan Jennings who was nominated for Young Achiever of the year.

Ethan was recognised by school and his swimming club for the enormous progress he has

made over the past two years with his swimming, and the nomination recognises Ethan’s

potential to excel in his sport.

We all had a lovely evening at the awards and our trophy is sitting proudly in the foyer now.
